How do I avoid fake bookings or people who never show up?

With bookings pending approval, required fields, reminders and, if needed, services only for known clients.

Updated 02 Sep 2026

There are several levers, and you do not need all of them:

  • Default status pending in Bookings: nothing enters your calendar without your approval.
  • Required fields: asking for a phone number, not just a name, filters out almost everything that is not real.
  • Reminders: most no-shows are forgetfulness. A notice the day before is what reduces them most.
  • Service audience: some services can be limited to clients who already came or to pass holders.
  • Marking the no-show: that way you know who keeps doing it, and with a pass the session is used up anyway.

Against bots filling forms you do not have to do anything: public booking already applies automatic per-visitor limits so nobody can fire hundreds of attempts.

And if someone is a nuisance on WhatsApp or Telegram, you can block that contact so the assistant ignores them.
