What do appointment statuses mean and what do I do with a no-show?
Pending, confirmed, completed, cancelled and no-show. Finished ones are marked automatically after a while.

An appointment can be pending (waiting for you to accept it, if you set it up that way), confirmed, completed, cancelled or marked as no-show.
You do not have to close the day by hand: confirmed appointments that have already finished are marked as completed automatically a while after their end time. What is never changed automatically is a cancellation or a no-show, because only you know that.
Marking a no-show matters more than it seems: it stays in the client history, it counts towards knowing who lets you down and, if they came with a pass, it uses up the session as if they had shown up. That is what stops people booking just in case and not turning up.
Cancelling frees the slot immediately: it is offered again on the website and appears in Gap filling in case you want to cover it.
