Can I read and reply to the assistant conversations myself?
Yes: in Conversations you see everything, and as soon as you reply the assistant steps aside.

In Communication › Conversations you have the conversations from your channels: who wrote, what the assistant replied and what came out of it.
The assistant is not a black box and does not replace you. If you step in yourself —from the dashboard or from your own WhatsApp— the assistant steps aside in that conversation and stops replying there, so it never talks over you.
If you would rather it never replies to someone, you can block that contact; and if you want to silence it completely for a few days, you can pause the whole channel without losing its setup.
